Joan and Melissa are live blogging the Red Carpet tonight from 6 to 8:30pm (ET). Keep coming back throughout the evening for fashion hits and misses... ;)
Breaking News: Nicole Richie is pregnant. Did not see that one coming.
While we await the cream of the crop of arrivals, sideline over to Rachel and Karen's movie-centered site: http://www.themovietalkshow.com/ for some great commentary on film. :)
IT'S MILEY! Ugh. When is her 15 mins over...? She's wearing the ugliest dress (and although it's too early to tell, this may already be worst dressed for the evening). And why the hell is she there anyway? OMG, look at this disaster from the back...
Virginia Madsen... Really lovely in red.
Breaking News: Just announced that A-List stars that have won in the past will be on stage as presenters, but not on the Red Carpet, to keep the secret and suspense under wraps.
Taraji P. Henson of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Just gorg in a deconstructed white strapless gown. It's a modern take with a Victorian-esque appeal. Just gorg.
Freida Pinto from Slumdog Millionaire (which will most likely take the Oscar for Best Picture home tonight) in John Galliano. Very lovely on camera.
Heidi Klum in a daring (albeit hot mess) dress... It could come apart at any minute. Way too much jewelry on the wrist and I'm not too crazy about the hair. Usually, she gets it right. Not tonight. :(
Sigh... my heart just stopped a little. RDJ just showed up, and looks just swooningly adorable.
SJP and Matthew Broderick. The Dior haute couture dress is actually greenish in hue, but doesn't read on camera. Really very pretty and cream puffy...
Marisa Tomei... STUNNING. The folds in this dress are incredible. My god... it's artwork. Gorg.
Amy Adams. Not a fan of the necklace, but the detail on the top of this deep red gown is delish.

Beyonce... wearing curtains. Just awful.
Can I tell you how much we hate this dbag? Why is she wasting her tie w/him. Ugh.
Melissa George in all sorts of wrong. Just wrong. Wrong. Wrong.
Natalie Portman in a delish lavender. Very pretty.
Evan Rachel Wood lovely draping on this cream gown.
Anne Hathaway, the detail on this dress is AMAZING! Gorgeous bead work.
Penelope Cruz. Just love the lace and tone on tone brocade on this dreamy gown. Glad she's not wearing black for a change.
Mickey -- well, what did you expect him to wear?
Kate Winslet... gorgeous steel grey gown with a floaty black overlay. Very nice. Great choice to bring home Oscar in.
Jessica sans Justin. Not sure how I feel about this. But her hair looks fab.
Red Carpet Observation: OMG. Brangie blew Ryan off AGAIN. Fab. lol. What douchefaces. On ABC now for pre-show coverage, they bearly have time for Tim Gunn, too. Seriously, they need to get over themselves. They're buying into their own press about the whole Hollywood royalty crap.
What a friggin' surprise... she wore black. yawwwwwwwn.
Tina Fey... She got the gold/pale memo too. Looking good :)
Alicia Keys. Gorgeous color... She did good.
