The fiancee of superstar Tom Cruise was holding a buzzing aid against her pregnant stomach, as she believes it is comforting to the foetus.

maybe it's a pre-birth auditing device. the baby comes out fully audited and a fully fledged level 6 operative thetan.
Maybe the kid has a barcode on it and she was scanning its current position. Then she'll beam that info to the Headquarters where they will chart its progress.
