If you didn't think the relationship between him and Katie Holmes was strange before, you will certainly think so now. After declaring his love for his new lady and fielding questions about a possible marriage, Cruise headed backstage to persuade the shy actress to come and sit with him on the show, stating, "She's freaking out. I'll go and get her".

But Holmes wasn't worried about facing the audience and TV cameras with her new beau - she's a massive fan of Oprah's and couldn't face meeting her heroine on live TV.

As cameras followed Cruise backstage, his new girlfriend ran away from him.
