The difference between the two is that Avril is a total poser, pretending to be "punk" and then coming out with this "girlfriend" shiznat. I mean, WTF? The video's got choreographed dance moves! Pah-lease. Real punk. Sid Vicious is rolling over in his grave right now.
Hillary Duff has never really pretended to be anything other than who she is...she's always been a goody-goody pop princess. So I don't really know what's going on with the outfit in that pic. Ground control to Major Tom....
